The artist Irena Jevtović represented in a simple form and vibrant colours idea of freedom as heritage
As part of the “Freedom as Heritage” project, a workshop was held in early March 2026, bringing together students from the Gymnasium and interested citizens to reflect on the ideas of freedom and rebellion, while also developing concepts and motifs for a new mural in the city. Artist Irena Jevtović, known as Kusha Chicks, transformed the participants’ ideas into a sketch and subsequently painted the mural at 10 Nikola Pašića Street in early March. The mural occupies the site of her previous work, which had been covered by a new building façade. Drawing on the ideas shared by the workshop participants, Irena explored freedom and rebellion as forms of cultural heritage, creating a mural that tells a story through vibrant colours and simplified forms.
